Do you want a summer job where you can make a real difference while gaining valuable experience for your future career? With us at Adult Open Care, you will meet people who are in the midst of change and need support to take the next step in life. This summer, we are looking for a treatment assistant for our short-term accommodation at Torpvägen. Here, conversation and relationships are at the center, and together we work to create security, structure, and long-term changes. This is a summer job for you who want to work closely with people, take responsibility, and develop in an organization where every day counts.
YOUR ROLE
As an adult treatment worker/treatment assistant at Torpvägen, you work on behalf of social workers and provide psychosocial support to individuals living with harmful use or dependency, sometimes in combination with mental health issues or other social difficulties. The work involves building trust, promoting motivation, and contributing to positive change at the individual's pace and based on their circumstances. A significant part of the assignment involves conversation and relationship-building work. With a curious and exploratory approach, you meet each individual where they are, and together you work towards change. This may involve providing support in contact with authorities, healthcare, social services, or other actors in the person's network, as well as creating structure and motivation in daily life so that the individual can take steps forward. Torpvägen's short-term accommodation is a drug-free residence with six places for individuals who want to change their life situation and live without alcohol or drugs. The operation also offers outpatient support to around 20-25 people in their homes. Working hours are Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM with flexible options.
YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE
For the position, one of the following is required: a relevant academic degree for the operation, such as a social worker, psychologist, or behavioral scientist. Alternatively: commenced education as mentioned above, with completed term 4 at the start of employment. Alternatively: at least 1 year of post-secondary education, such as a YH education deemed suitable based on the assignment, focusing on psychiatry, behavioral science, or social work. It is advantageous if you have experience working with the target group and knowledge of harmful use, dependency, and mental health issues. It is also advantageous if you have training and/or experience in professional conversations. To thrive in the role, you need to be secure, empathetic, and genuinely curious about other people. You are driven to create contact and build trust, even in situations that require patience and creativity. You have the ability to collaborate well with others to achieve common goals, while also being confident in working independently. You believe in people's ability to change and can create calm and trust even in challenging situations. With us, you will be able to use that ability in a context where it truly makes a difference. A valid driver's license (B) and good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, are required for the position.
YOUR NEW WORKPLACE
At the Individual and Family Care, we work to help people achieve a better life situation. We provide support, protection, and guidance, always with respect for the individual's responsibility and integrity. Here, you will meet colleagues who, with courage, care, and collaboration, make a real difference for both children, youth, and adults in Skellefteå. Torpvägen's short-term accommodation is part of Adult Open Care, which also includes the operations of Counseling Oden, Vile Open Care, and Housing First. Here, you will become part of an engaged team that collaborates closely and supports each other, even when the work itself is independent. We work with heart in every meeting, lift each other up, and believe in people's ability to change. With us, you will have a meaningful everyday life with supervision, a mentor, wellness benefits, and opportunities for professional development – in an organization where you can see the effects of your work, for real.
GOOD TO KNOW
We recruit based on competence and focus on your experience, knowledge, and potential. Instead of a personal letter, you will answer some selection questions and attach an updated CV.
